Soon after launching the Konnect Power smartphone in the Indian market, Home-grown mobile phone manufacturer Swipe Technologies on Tuesday expanded its budget smartphone portfolio with the launch of an entry-level smartphone, called the “Swipe Elite VR” in the Indian smartphone market. Priced at Rs. 4,499, the new Swipe Elite VR will be made available for purchase in India starting from today exclusively via e-commerce website ShopClues.com in Black, White, Gold and Red colour options. The economical price of this smartphone might suggest a device with weak performance, but the Swipe Elite VR is designed to offer an exceptional entertainment, photography, battery life, and productivity experience in its price range. The company claims that the Swipe Elite VR is the most affordable smartphone to support Virtual Reality. Interestingly, the smartphone also comes bundled with a virtual reality headset.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Swipe Elite VR sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 pixels by 720 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor coupled with Mali-T720 image processing unit (GPU) to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the smartphone is backed up by a 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Swipe Elite VR runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box with Indus OS running on top.
In terms of photography, the Swipe Elite VR comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash module. On the front, the phone houses a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls.
On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Swipe Elite VR supports various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer.
