After announcing the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus smartphones earlier this month, Lenovo-backed Motorola is all set to introduce its another new smartphone on August 24 in Brazil. The company has already started sending out “save the date” media invites for an upcoming smartphone launch event, which is scheduled to take place at 10:00 AM BST on Thursday, August 24 in the land of São Paulo, Brazil.

The media invite shows an image of company logos, scheduled launch date and time with a bold line “Save the Date”. If you take a look at the provided teaser image, you will get to see a woman holding a black colour Motorola smartphone. Though the press invite doesn’t reveal any clear information about the upcoming Moto smartphones or which specific smartphone will launch at the event, it is likely to be the Motorola’s Moto X4 smartphone. Some people say the new device could be the high-end Moto Z2 Force, other people say it might be the lower mid-range Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus, as the multiple rumours have already been leaked about the Moto smartphones related to the South American country.

However, there are many leaks and rumours about the Moto X4 have been surfaced on several websites from the last couple of months. Moto X4 has been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of its official debut which does reveal a gist of all the specifications and features about the upcoming Moto smartphone. If the emerging reports are to be believed, the Moto X4 would see a significant overhaul in terms of specifications and arrive with a host of improvements in both hardware and software specs.

Moto X4 rumoured Specifications and Features:

According to the Android Authority reports, the Moto X4 will have a 5.2-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass coating on top of the display. The device is expected to be powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 508 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Moto X4 will be offered in two variants: Moto X4 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage (for the Europe, North America and Latin America) and Moto X4 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (for the Asia Pacific region). The Moto X4 is likely to be launched in Super Black and Sterling Blue colour variants. On the software front, the Moto X4 will run Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.

In terms of photography, the Moto X4 is expected to sport a horizontally arranged dual rear camera setup consisting of one 12-megapixel primary sensor with dual autofocus, an f/2.0 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size and one 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and 120-degree field of view for depth-of-field effects. The rear-facing dual camera setup will support features like Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), dual-LED flash and 4K resolution video recording support. On the front, it will sport a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash module for capturing bright selfies and making video calls even in low light conditions.

In terms of connectivity, the Moto X4 will support dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the Moto X4 will be backed up by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with Motorola’s TurboCharging feature support. The Moto X4 will also sport a front-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security. Dimensionally, the handset will be measuring in at 148.35 x 73.4 x 7.99 mm and weighing in at 163 grams.
