After launching the Elite VR smartphone in the Indian market earlier this month, Home-grown handset manufacturer Swipe Mobiles on Wednesday expanded its entry-level smartphone portfolio with the launch of a new 4G VoLTE-enabled handset, dubbed as “Swipe Elite 4G” in the Indian smartphone market. Priced at Rs. 3,999, the new Swipe Elite 4G is now already made available for purchase in India exclusively via e-commerce website Flipkart.com in Black, Gold and Grey colour options.
Speaking about the launch of the new Swipe Elite 4G smartphone, Shripal Gandhi, founder & CEO of Swipe Technologies said, “India is fast migrating to 4G as cost of data is becoming affordable. India will be truly empowered only when every common man of the economy will be able to avail the benefit of the revolution that is under way in the field of mobile communications. With the government pushing the use of mobile phones for financial transactions and other associated benefits, not having smartphone is not a choice anymore.”
Talking about its specifications, the Swipe Elite 4G comes equipped with a 5-inch FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 854 pixels by 480 pixels and a scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass coating on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a powerful 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7 quad core processor coupled with Mali-400MP GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the handset is backed up by a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Swipe Elite 4G runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box.
In terms of optics, the Swipe Elite 4G sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED flash module. On the front, the phone houses a 5-megapixel fixed focus front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM Swipe Elite 4G offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the smartphone comes packed with a 2,500mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. Sensors on the device include an Accelerometer sensor, Proximity sensor and Ambient Light sensor. Dimensionally, the handset measures 145.2 x 73 x 9.6 mm and weighs 147 grams.
