After a series of many leaks and revelations, South Korean electronics giant Samsung has officially announced the launch of its first mid-range smartphone with dual rear camera setup, dubbed as the “Galaxy J7+” in Thailand. Samsung Galaxy J7+ is a new member of company’s popular Galaxy J7 series that we have seen the recently launched Galaxy J7 (2017) and now the Galaxy J7+, it can be considered as an upgraded version of the Galaxy J7 (2017). Samsung Galaxy J7+ is the company’s second smartphone to come with dual rear camera setup, after the company’s latest premium phablet Galaxy Note 8. Carried a price tag of THB 12,900 (approximately Rs. 24,800 or US$ 389), the new Samsung Galaxy J7+ is now already listed on company’s official website for pre-order and the same will be going on sale in Thailand starting September 18 (Monday) in Black, Gold and Pink colour options. Those customers who pre-book a Galaxy J7+ through the company’s official online store (www.S-eStore.com) will get a Samsung U Flex headphones worth THB 2,490 (Rs. 4,800) for free.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy J7+ comes equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 2.39GHz octa-core (unspecified) processor, which comes coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a micro SD card. Talking about its software front, the Galaxy J7+ runs on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with company’s TouchWiz custom UI skin running on top. The Galaxy J7+ also supports NFC, Samsung Pay and MST connectivity, and comes with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and facial recognition for high-grade biometric security.

The device also comes with company’s Bixby personal AI assistant feature, but unlike the flagship Galaxy S8, S8+, and Galaxy Note8, the new Galaxy J7+ does not have a dedicated button to open it. To activate this feature, users have to unlock the phone first and then tap on the app to use it. Apart from this, the smartphone also supports features like multi-window, always-on-display (AOD), dual Messenger that allows users to use two messaging accounts in the same phone.

Talking about its camera department, the Samsung Galaxy J7+ Pro houses a vertically arranged dual rear camera setup that comes combined with one 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and one 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. The main camera features also include Bokeh effects, autofocus, an LED flash module and full HD (1080p) video recording support. On the front, the device features a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/1.9 aperture and a dedicated LED flash unit for capturing bright selfies and making video calls even in low light situations.

Connectivity options offered by the Galaxy J7+ include Dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the battery front, the smartphone is backed up by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support. Sensors on the device include an Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor, Geomagnetic sensor, and Fingerprint (rear-mounted) sensor. Dimension wise, the handset measures 152.4 x 74.7 x 7.9 mm.
