Spice brand, a joint venture between Chinese mobile manufacturer Transsion Holdings and Domestic mobile brand Spice Mobility, on Thursday expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new budget-oriented smartphone, dubbed as the “Spice V801” in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 7,999, the new Spice V801 is now already made available for purchase in India via all leading offline retail stores across the country. The main highlights of the smartphone are its Android 7.0 Nougat OS, Fingerprint sensor and Clone Apps feature support. The new feature called “Clone Apps” allows you to access two different social media accounts including Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, at the same time. The smartphone also comes equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor that lets you unlock the smartphone just within 0.1 seconds. The fingerprint sensor also supports multiple features such as call via a click on fingerprint, instant access to favourite apps with customization up to 5 fingerprints as personal shortcuts and access to private profiles and files.
Spice V801 Specifications and Features:
In terms of specifications, the Spice V801 comes equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass protection on top of the display. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.25GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor coupled with Mali T720 image processing unit. In terms of memory, the phone comes loaded with a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fronts, the dual-SIM Spice V801 runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
In terms of photography, the Spice V801 houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Talking about its selfie camera, the Spice V801 features an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for capturing selfies and making video calls. The smartphone also comes with various Selfie camera features, including Facemask and Bokeh effects.
Connectivity options offered by the Spice V801 include dual SIM dual standby, 4G VoLTE (voice over LTE), ViLTE (video over LTE), Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth v4.0, and microUSB port for charging and other connectivity. On the battery, the Spice V801 is backed up by a powerful 2,700mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 144 hours of standby time, claims the company. Sensors on the smartphone include Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Fingerprint sensor, and Proximity sensor. Dimensionally, the handset measures 143.5 x 72 x 8.3mm.
