Debutant director Advait Chandan’s Secret Superstar, starring Dangal fame Zaira Wasim and Mr. Perfectionist, Amir Khan, has been received positively by the critics and is sure to attract the audiences too. But the first day for the film went a bit lukewarm-may be due to Diwali celebrations, making people less motivated to go into theatres. Secret Superstar was released yesterday, on the eve of Diwali-and not on a regular Friday.
On Day 1 the film collected Rs.4 crore, as per the early estimates-bit of an average. But it can be an exception since the movie has got raving reviews from many critics, praising Amir Khan’s and especially Zaira’s performance.
And the movie is expected to gain a huge boost over the weekend, due to great performances by its cast, though it will be getting very tough competition from another big Diwali release, Golmaal Again (fourth installment in the hit Golmaal franchise), directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Ajay Devgan, Tabu, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade and Johnny Lever.
The comedy entertainer is also expected to lure a larger audience for its appeal of humor and laughter.
It will be interesting to see, who emerges out as the ultimate Diwali Box-Office Winner, this year.
