A still from Coco

Coco, the new magically fabulous animation film from Disney/Pixar is turning into a phenomenon with each progressive day. The movie has fared impressively at the US domestic box-office and eventually topped its first weekend comprising of five days, even beating DC’s Justice League! And now, in its second week too, the movie seems to do the same.

Coco made around $73 million in its five-day opening week (last week). Though, its opening week collections were slightly lower than Disney’s 2016 animated feature, Moana ($83 million), but higher than 2015’s Tangled ($68.7 million) and Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur ($55.5 million).

This week also is looking favourable for Coco, as it can easily top Justice League yet another time, by grossing around $25 million, in the US alone!

Other markets have also boosted Coco’s earnings, like China, where it opened with $18.2 million and Mexico, where the movie has been a record-breaker with figures reaching to $53.4 million!

On the worldwide level, the movie has so far taken in around $153 million.
