If I ask you the one thing that the whole country India did the whole year 2017, you will say linking Aadhaar Card to every document. The government made compulsory to link Aadhaar card to Bank Account, link Aadhaar card to PAN Card, link Aadhaar card to the phone number, link Aadhaar card to gas connection, link Aadhaar card to every document. And everyone has started wondering if the government could ask to link Aadhaar card to the life! Jokes apart, but the Aadhaar card has really made the life of common people difficult.
Lately, an actor Jayant Kripalani through his poem at Kolkata Book Fair 2018 talked about the feeling of every India who gets tired of Aadhar card.
The lines of the poem go like this:
I am a Baul singer and I know that I am free
I am a Baul singer and I know that I am free
I don’t need an Aadhaar card to tell me I am me…2
They say they’ll close my bank account oh I just have a laugh
They say they’ll close my bank account oh I just have a laugh
What the hell are they going to do with 1 rupee and a half…2
I am a Baul singer and I know that I am free
I don’t need an Aadhaar card to tell me I am me.
If they won’t burn my body then let it do some good
If they won’t burn my body then let it do some good
Throw it on the road so the crows will at least get some food..2
I am a Baul singer and I know that I am free
I don’t need an Aadhaar card to tell me I am me.
Without an Aadhaar card they say they’ll cut my telephone
Without an Aadhaar card they say they’ll cut my telephone
For talking to the almighty who needs a dial tone…2
I am a Baul singer and I know that I am free
I don’t need an Aadhaar card to tell me I am me.
It’s indeed a true poem based on Indian’s connection with Aadhaar.
