Yoga master Baba Ramdev showed his wrestling abilities as he clashed with 2008 Olympic silver medalist Andriy Stadnik in a special episode of the Patanjali Powervita Pro Wrestling League (PWL) in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Brandishing his run of the mill saffron langot, Ramdev dominated the competition 12-0 over Mr Stadnik, who is very much recalled by Indian wrestling devotees as he had crushed Indian star wrestler Sushil Kumar in the Beijing Olympics. As the Ukrainian achieved the last, it gave Sushil a chance to play in and win a bronze decoration.

Ramdev strolled onto the tangle and, before the session started, displayed his torch yoga moves before continuing to his agreeable fight with Andriy Stadnik, 34, a previous European champion.The Yoga master indicated wrestling intuition as he hauled out the best of specialised moves, for example, bring down, one-leg hold and binding.

Since it was a special session, Mr Stadnik reacted by permitting Ramdev to have his way, as did the refs. After almost two minutes, he surrendered. The session occurred amid the second semi-last between Punjab Royals and Mumbai Maharathi. PWL is supported by Patanjali Ayurved Limited, possessed by Ramdev.

This was not the first occasion when that Baba Ramdev has demonstrated enthusiasm for well disposed wrestling sessions. A year ago, on the event of the twentieth commemoration of their Ashram in Haridwar, Baba had tested India’s just individual two-time Olympic wrestling medallist and previous best on the planet Sushil.
