The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is the high-tech space research centre in India that has tons of achievements to its list. There have been historical launches that have made the world look up to the country. ISRO is once again set to prove its valour with the satellite launch scheduled on February 15th.
The historical launch would bear a total of 104 satellites of which 101 are foreign. One of the 3 Indian satellites, would be used in the area of defence with high resolution camera and remote sensing technology termed under the Cartosat-2D series.
ISRO has previously performed a similar feat by launching 22 satellites in one go. Many other countries also have the record of launching multiple satellites. All these micro satellites are set to be launched by many countries around the world. S Somnath, director of liquid propulsion systems did not reveal the entire list of countries but mentioned that US and Germany are a part of it.
These satellites are to be launched using the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C3. The total weight is about 1350kgs of which 500-600kgs is the weight of the satellite.
This mission scheduled for February 15th 2017, is bound to bring in glory to ISRO and our country since this would be a historical launch with a hundred satellites.
The launch has been scheduled on February 15th from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This launch is expected to be followed by the launch of a South Asian satellite in March 2017, which the highly expected project of the year.
