Domestic mobile manufacturer Alcatel on Monday launched an entry-level smartphone, the Pixi 4 phablet in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs. 9,100. First unveiled at CES 2016, this smartphone can be considered as a slightly upgraded version of its predecessor PIXI series with some extra features in it. Following the success of its predecessors in the Indian market, the 4G, VoLTE-enabled “PIXI 4 (6)” phablet sports speakers enhanced by French software company Arkamys.

The new Pixi 4 (6) offers clear, sharp shots for the best selfies, along with exclusive Polaroid filters, a powerful music experience, and a super slim, seductive design. A large 6-inch display of the phablet offers stunning cinematic experience and 4G VoLTE connectivity option provides seamless experience to the users. It is committed to enhance the user experience by ensuring the best features and technology. However, the Pixi series smartphones delivers an array of premium features like large displays, creative software, seductive designs, front flash cameras and fast browsing 4G VoLTE connectivity at an unbeatable price.

Speaking at the launch Mr Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India said, “Alcatel is committed to bring best technology and user experience at affordable prices to India. Looking at affordability of data packages and availability of video content on demand, we expect growth in 6” 4G VoLTE segment. The new PIXI 4 6” will continue the legacy of improvised polaroid software, better movie experience and faster browsing. To serve the market better we have recently joined hands with Advanced Computers as our offline distribution partners. The partnership will ensure us to reach more customer base in the market. We will strive to provide better user experience for our customers.”

Alcatel has recently partnered with Advanced Computers for offline distribution of its smartphones thus aiming to reach more customer base in the rapidly growing Indian tech market. The Pixi 4 (6) smartphone will be made available offline through Advanced Computers in metallic silver and metallic gold colour variants.

“The partnership will ensure us to reach more customer base in the market,” Valecha added.

Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) phablet specifications and features: –

In terms of specifications, the Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) phablet sports a 6-inch semi-HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display supporting 5 points multi-touch and offering a colour depth of 16M. It is powered by a 1.0GHz Quad Core Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. Talking about software, the Alcatel Pixi 4 Phablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow Operating System.

In terms of photography, the Alcatel Pixi 4 is equipped with an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor for selfies and video chats. Both the cameras are accompanied by a LED flash to assist them in low light conditions. The Alcatel Pixi 4 also comes with company’s Polaroid software that allows users to create attractive photo collages and also able to add artistic effects, borders & texts on the photo frame.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, digital compass and a proximity sensor. The phone is backed up by a non-removable 2580mAh battery which should last a day on a single charge. The Alcatel Pixi 4 Phablet measures 165×83.8×8.35mm and weigh 186 grams.
