Taiwanese PC and tablet manufacturer Asus on Friday expanded its ZenPad tablet series portfolio with the launch of a new ZenPad device, dubbed as “ZenPad Z8s” in the US tech market. Priced at $249.99 (roughly Rs. 15,900), the new Asus ZenPad Z8s tablet is now already made available for purchase in the US exclusively via online mobile carrier, Verizon Wireless in Gray colour option. For qualified customers (Verizon subscribers), Verizon Wireless has listed the ZenPad Z8s tablet on its website for $0 down payment with $10.41 per month for two years or 24 months. You can also get the tablet for only $149 on a two-year contract. Unfortunately, the company has made no official announcements about the pricing details and availability of the ZenPad Z8s for other markets.

Technically speaking, Asus ZenPad Z8s sports a 7.9-inch IPS 2K (QXGA) display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The 2K display also comes with company’s VisualMaster technology, a suite of exclusive visual enhancement technologies that delivers a true viewing experience on your tablet. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 510 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Asus ZenPad Z8s is backed up by a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a micro SD card. On the software front, the ZenPad Z8s runs company’s proprietary ZenUI 3.5 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

For photography, the Asus ZenPad Z8s houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel resolution front-facing shooter for making video calls and capturing selfies. In addition, the Asus PixelMaster camera app offers multiple modes to enhance the photography experience further such as – Back Light (HDR) Mode, Low Light Mode, Night Mode, Manual Mode, Photo Effect Mode, Super Resolution Mode, Selfie Panorama and Selfie Mode.

On the connectivity front, the Asus ZenPad Z8s tablet offers various connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, a 3.5mm Audio port, USB OTG, two stereo speakers with DTS Headphone X technology, and a USB Type-C port for super-fast charging and data transfer. Sensors on the tablet include a Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, E-Compass and Gyroscope sensor. On the battery front, The Asus ZenPad Z8s packs a massive 4,680mAh battery which claims to deliver up to 12 hours of normal usage time and up to 300 hours of standby time. Dimensionally, the tablet measures 204 x 133.86 x 6.9 mm and weighs 306 grams.
