Taiwanese PC and Tablet manufacturer Asus on Thursday expanded its Republic of Gamers (ROG) series gaming laptop portfolio with the launch of a new powerful gaming machine, called the “Asus Asus ROG G701” in the Indian tech market. Carried a price tag of Rs. 3,49,990, the new Asus ROG G701 gaming laptop will be made available for purchase in India exclusively via Asus ROG stores across the country in ROG Armor Titanium and ROG Plasma Copper colour schemes. The Asus ROG G701 comes equipped with the latest 7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor (Intel Kabylake), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and some really good specifications at a price point of Rs. 3,49,990. The compact gaming machine is aimed at professional gamers and enthusiasts, as it comes with dedicated gaming powers.

In terms of design, the Asus ROG G701 sports the premium Bio-armour design with “Armor Titanium” and “Plasma Copper” colour scheme. The laptop is 33.5mm thick and features an anti-ghosting keyboard with 30-Key Rollover technology. The 30-Key Rollover ensures that all your keystrokes are registered, even when hitting multiple keys simultaneously. On top of that, a larger space bar and isolated keys ensure that everything you need is kept within easy reach. Another highlight of the Asus ROG G701 is its “C Part” asymmetric shaped keyboard, which features a palm rest layout. The company claims that this layout makes the ROG G701 one of the most ergonomically designed laptops which lets users type and use the touchpad and keypad with greater comfort.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Asus ROG G701 comes equipped with a wide-viewing-angle 17.3-inch 4K UHD display with a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels or 17.3-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The 4K UHD display has a refresh rate frequency of 60Hz and offers 100 percent NTSC colour output, while the full-HD display panel offers 120Hz refresh rate with 72 percent NTSC colour output. The display also supports NVIDIA G-Sync technology that synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with NVIDIA GeForce graphics card’s frame rate for enhanced and flawless gaming visuals.

Technically speaking, Asus ROG G701 is powered by the new Intel 7th generation (Kaby Lake) Intel Core i7 7820HK unlocked processor, which comes coupled with up to 64GB DDR4 2800MHz DRAM. In terms of graphics, the Asus ROG G701 comes with a desktop class NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card with up to 8GB of GDDR5X video memory for incredible virtual-reality (VR) gaming performance and detailed gaming visuals. In terms of storage, you can opt for a 256GB SSD storage, 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage with HyperDrive RAID 0 support for faster data access speeds and boot-up times.

Ports on the gaming machine include two USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port (USB Type-C 3.1), one Gen 2 USB 3.1 Type-C port, one RJ45 LAN port, one HDMI port, 2-in-1 card reader, one mini Display Port, and one 3.5mm headphone jack port. USB Type-C port gives you hyper-fast data transfer speeds and easier device connections. A user can also connect the laptop to a secondary display using HDMI. Connectivity options offered by the laptop include 802.11 ac (dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.1. The Asus ROG G701 comes packed with 93WHrs 6 Cells battery which can provide decent battery life. The laptop also features built-in speakers that direct sound towards you to make games come to the real world with ESS Audio DAC technology. The gaming laptop supports Trinity Display Technology with 4K2K output that makes the machine capable of giving three displays simultaneously, using HDMI, Thunderbolt and mini Display connectors.

The Asus ROG G701 also comes with a ROG gaming center dedicated button. If you are not aware of this, the ROG gaming center is a portal to ROG utilities, apps and tools. It is a one-stop interface for monitoring and fine-tuning system components, managing various game profiles, keyboard profiles and macros, Splendid Display and Audio Equalizer profiles and for setting Internet packet prioritization.
