Taiwanese PC and Tablet manufacturer Asus on Thursday unveiled its next-generation camera-centric smartphone series, christened as the “Asus Zenfone 4 series” at a global event in its homeland, Taiwan. The new ZenFone 4 series includes six devices, namely ZenFone 4, Zenfone 4 Pro, ZenFone 4 Max, ZenFone 4 Max Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro. Out of these six Asus smartphones, the ZenFone 4 Max (ZC554KL) has already made its debut on the Russian tech market a couple of weeks ago and the phone is now retailing in Russia with a price tag of RUB 13,900 (approx. Rs. 15,150). The Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 Pro are the company’s flagship devices as they sport high-end feature, while the Zenfone Max, Zenfone Max Pro, Zenfone Selfie and Zenfone Selfie Pro are mid-rangers as they totally focus on the front camera and the battery performance. All these aforementioned new smartphones come with a metal unibody design with diamond-cut metal edges, either dual rear camera setup or dual front camera setup and run on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with company’s proprietary ZenUI 4.0 custom skin on top. The company has promised that all the smartphones will get the Android O update (yet to be announced).
When it comes to pricing, Asus has currently revealed the price of only four models. The Asus ZenFone 4 has been launched with a starting price of US$ 399 (roughly Rs. 25,600) and comes in Midnight Black, Moonlight White and Mint Green hues. The Asus ZenFone 4 Pro has been launched with a starting price of US$ 599 (roughly Rs. 38,400) and comes in Pure Black and Moonlight White hues. The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie has been launched with a price tag of US$ 279 (roughly Rs. 17,900) and comes in four body colour options including Deepsea Black, Mint Green, Rose Pink and Sunlight Gold. The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro has been launched with a price tag of US$ 379 (roughly Rs. 24,300) and comes in Rouge Red, Sunlight Gold and Deepsea Black colour variants. The Taiwanese brand says that all the devices will be rolled out in Asia first and then it will be extended to other markets worldwide, though the company has made no official announcements for their exact launch date or availability.
