After the success of the Zenfone Go series, the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer Asus on Wednesday updated this series catalogue with the launch of Zenfone Go 5.5 (ZB552KL) in India. The smartphone is launched at a price tag of Rs 8,499 and is exclusively available on e-commerce website Amazon India in Charcoal Black and Sheer Gold colour options. To recall, the ZenFone Go was initially launched in last year, and Asus believes that the main USP (unique selling point) of the smartphone is the smart camera and elegant design.

In terms of specifications, the new member of the Zenfone series sports a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS LCD display that can provide up to 500 nits (nit is a unit of visible-light intensity) of brightness. The display also features a Bluelight Filter that is helpful for user’s eyes during prolonged usage. “It is a perfect amalgamation of beauty and strength,” says the company. Zenfone Go 5.5 furthermore comes packed with a physical rear key that allows users to adjust the volume and click perfect selfies.
The Zenfone Go 5.5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8916 Quad-core processor, coupled with 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU to handle the graphics. The smartphone comes in two internal storage variants 16GB and 32GB and these storages can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the device runs company’s own custom ZenUI 3.0, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. ZenUI 3.0 skin comes with exciting new features for a simpler, secure and more personalized experience.
In terms of photography, the Zenfone Go 5.5 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED real tone flash to ensure high quality, sharp and clear photographs. On the front, the phone sports a 5-megapixel camera that also comes with an f/2.0 aperture. In addition, the Asus PixelMaster 3.0 camera app offers multiple modes to enhance the photography experience further such as – Back Light (HDR) Mode, Low Light Mode, Manual Mode (for DSLR-like camera detail settings), Night Mode, Super Resolution Mode (for up to 4X resolution photos), Real Time Beautification Mode, Photo Effect Mode, Selfie Panorama, Selfie Mode.
In terms of connectivity, this dual SIM smartphone offers 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), WiFi-Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, Glonass, FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors onboard the smartphone include Accelerator, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, E-Compass and Hall sensor. The Asus ZenFone Go 5.5 (ZB552KL) is backed by a 3000mAh polymer battery and it also features a built-in mono speaker and a dual internal mic with Noise Cancellation for improved call quality. The handset measures 153.4 x 76.44 x 10.95 mm and weighs 168 grams.
