The much awaited Vijay60 ‘Bairava’ finally released for the Tamil harvest festival ‘Pongal’ and is gathering mixed reviews. The movie created a lot of expectations amongst Vijay fans and has turned out to be a disappointment.
The plot of the movie revolves around a loan recovery agent (Vijay) and his mission to revenge against the chairman of an educational institution in a bid to save his lady love (Keerthy Suresh). The movie seems to be a Vijay stereotype that even the trailer had glimpses of his superhits ‘Ghilli’ and ‘Pokkiri’. The movie was indeed a treat to the actor’s fans and did make them shout their throats out for the ‘FDFS’. But it didn’t reach out well with the general movie audience.
With Vijay’s career filled with ups and downs, it would be wiser on his part to choose scripts like his own ‘Their’ and ‘Thuppaki’. The storyline of ‘Bairava’ is very poor and lacks the energy an action-entertainer demands. Surprisingly, Santosh Narayan’s songs too didn’t sound impressive. With songs of Santosh’s earlier movie ‘Kabali’ still topping the playlists, ‘Bairava’ came as a disappointment.
The movie is, overall a one-timer for the ones who are desperately seeking for an entertainment this season. Interestingly, Vijay50, Sura was a flop and it was immediately followed by ‘Kavalan’ that was welcomed by all age groups. Maybe the actor’s next movie with Atlee would be a tremendous success following the path of ‘Kavalan’.
