Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel on Monday introduced a new voice and data-centric recharge plan, called the “Rs. 999 Plan” for its prepaid subscribers. The new Airtel Rs. 999 Recharge plan offers its subscribers unlimited voice calling and 4GB data per day for 28 days on a recharge of just Rs. 999. Under this “Rs. 999” recharge scheme, Airtel prepaid subscribers recharging with Rs. 999 can avail free unlimited voice calling to any network and any region (Local + STD) in the country, along with 4GB of 3G or 4G (depending on the circle) mobile data per day for a period of 28 days, totalling 112GB 3G/4G data for the period. All Airtel prepaid subscribers having 4G-enabled handsets with 4G SIMs can avail this offer and enjoy the company’s best value voice and data proposition in the said period. Note that, the new recharge plan is applicable for eligible Airtel prepaid numbers only.

In order to activate this voice and data offer on eligible Airtel number, Airtel prepaid customers need to go to the Airtel’s recharge portal and enter their number. After entering the ten-digit mobile number, users will have to go to the ‘Browse Packs’ section and select ‘Internet’ sub-category on the website. The special recharge plan can also be availed from the My Airtel app. Customers can also get an extra 50 percent discount if they recharge their mobile number via Airtel Payments Bank.

In the Indian telecom industry, the “disruptive” entry of Reliance Jio is a great momentum behind the new age price war. If you don’t remember, Reliance Jio rolled out its services officially on 1 September 2016, and now it has already crossed over 100 million user base. Reliance Jio created a small wave in the telecom market by introducing its highly affordable voice and data-centric combo plans. Reliance Jio has changed the entire telecom industry with its affordable tariff plans and forced the other telecom giants to reduce their data and calling rates. Airtel’s Rs. 999 prepaid plan will compete against the Reliance Jio’s Rs. 999 plan, where the company offers its subscribers 90GB of 4G data, along with free unlimited local and STD voice calling facility (all networks) for a period of 90 days.

To counter Reliance Jio’s mouth-watering offer, other leading telecom operators including Vodafone, BSNL, Idea Cellular, Aircel have already updated their chart of unlimited data tariff plans. They have been trying really hard to come up with new aggressive plans and strategies to compete against the Reliance Jio, which has captured over 10 crore subscribers in a short period of time. And now, the India’s largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel has launched a slew of new recharge plans for its prepaid subscribers offering best data and voice calling facility at affordable rates.

Here we have all the details of Airtel’s new prepaid recharge plans:
