So, without any surprise, here’s the big news for all you Black Panther fans and also Marvel die-hards! Black Panther has now gone past $1 billion on the worldwide box-office, and that too, in less than 25 days! Just recently, the movie hit the magical mark in style, remaining the #1 movie in this weekend too, in the US.
Another feat achieved by this ‘revolutionary Marvel’ flick is that it has now also gone past DC’s masterpiece, 2008’s The Dark Knight, on the domestic box-office. With its humongous $562 million collection so far on the US domestic box-office, Black Panther left behind Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight’s $534 million.
Practically speaking, Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa is now one of the top (single) superhero box-office rulers in the North America alone. Though there are other team-up superhero flicks too on top of the list! Black Panther has also beat 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which collected $532 million.
Internationally too, the Ryan Coogler blockbuster directorial has gone on to take an impressive $516 million, which brings its global box-office total to $1.078 billion, in 24 days.
It has now also become the 21st highest grossing film worldwide, and 6th highest global superhero earner, being behind only 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises ($1.08 billion), 2016’s Captain America: Civil War ($1.153b), 2013’s Iron Man 3 ($1.215b), 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.4b) and 2012’s The Avengers ($1.5b).
Good days ahead for the MCU. Wakanda forever!
