Tom Brady has cemented his place as one of the greatest Quarterback in the history of NFL. The duo of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick won their 5 Super Bowl. The New England Patriots beat Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime to win Super Bowl 51. Tom Brady took home his 4th Super Bowl MVP trophy as well. He now has the most super bowl mvp trophies.
The game started with both teams defense shutting the offense down. Atlanta broke the deadlock in the second quarter. Under the lead of league MVP Matt Ryan, Atlanta raced to a 21-0 lead. Atlanta committed a number of fouls but the Patriots did not capitalize on them. Patriots managed to score one field goal to make the score 21-3 at halftime.
The Patriots did not look like the dominating team they had been throughout the season. Dropped passes, sacks and interceptions including one being returned for a touchdown affected the Pats.
Similarly in the second half, The Falcons came out strong and scored a touchdown. But, this time the Patriots answered back with a touchdown of their own when Brady connected with James White for the score. The Patriots marched down the field after a stop by their defense. But they could only score a field goal and make it 28-12.
Patriots defense came up with a big play and recovered a fumble by Atlanta QB Matt Ryan. Tom Brady and Patriots offense did not let this opportunity go and scored to make the game to make the game 28-20. A sack by Patriots defense and a holding penalty on Atlanta quickly ended Atlanta’s drive and gave the ball back to Tom Brady.
Julian Edelman’s miracle Catch helped Patriots win Super Bowl 51.
Brady led the Patriots offense from their own 8 yard line. The drive almost ended when Atlanta almost intercepted Brady again. Instead Julian Edelman came with the ball. Edelman was in middle of 3 Atlanta defenders and still caught the ball.
The Patriots scored to tie the game and send the game into overtime. Patriot won the coin toss and decide to run the offense first. Patriots marched down the field and scored a touchdown to seal the game.
