State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Thursday launched a special promotional offer, called the “BSNL Chaukka-444”. The BSNL Chaukka-444 plan offers its subscribers unlimited data including 4GB 3G data per day for 90 days on a recharge of just Rs 444. BSNL “Chaukka-444” is a special tariff voucher (STV) plan, which the company has launched in the country as part of a special promotional offer for its prepaid subscribers. The STV-444 is a follow up to company’s previously launched STV 333 aka Triple ACE plan, which the telecom operator claims it got a ‘successful response’. BSNL’s “Triple ACE” STV was also a special promotional offer, in which the company offered its customer 3GB data per day.

“We are committed to provide affordable and efficient services to all segment of our mobile customers. We offer best prices to our customers considering present trend of Indian telecom industry,” R. K. Mittal, Director (CM) BSNL Board said in a statement.

With the launch of its new promotional pack, state-owned telecom operator is now going to compete against the major telecom company like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and others. In the Indian market, BSNL’s competitors are offering up to 2GB of mobile data per day. For example, Reliance Jio’s “Dhan Dhana Dhan” promotional offer is now giving 1GB and 2GB mobile data per day at a recharge of Rs 309 and Rs 509 respectively for its Prime members.

On the other hand, Idea Cellular recently unveiled a new plan, offering 1GB data per day along with unlimited calls (same network Local+STD) at a recharge of Rs. 396. Bharti Airtel is also offering 1GB 4G data per day with unlimited calls (same network Local+STD) at a recharge of Rs. 244. But now the “Chaukka-444” plan is the highest mobile data scheme, where the customers can avail 4GB 3Gdata per day for 90 days. So, 1GB of 3G mobile data will cost less than a rupee, which is the lowest in the telecom sector.
