Marvel is preparing to bring the beloved mutant superhero, Wolverine, back to life! Yes, but it’s in the comics, by the way-no connect with last year’s heart-wrenching, James Mangold’s Logan. So, the Wolverine will be returning back to life, completely, after his return to comic series, Marvel Legacy, last year.
But the question is, how?
Fans of the clawed mutant will be curious to know that. But the answer will be arriving only when the new, ‘one-shot’ (standalone) comic, Hunt for Wolverine #1 releases in April, 2018.
But for now, it’s been revealed that when Logan returns, he will also be having the possession of an Infinity Stone!
Yes, you heard that right. He will also, possibly, be associated with Guardians of the Galaxy, in search of the other infinity stones.
Hunt for Wolverine #1 will be written by Charles Soule, who’s the same man who killed the X-Men character in 2014’s Death of Wolverine.
The cover for the comic will be designed by Steve McNiven, which will be something like the image below, where Wolverine aka Logan is seen emerging out of an ‘adamantium cocoon’, which literally made him die, in the ‘Death of Wolverine’.
In a press release by Marvel, writer Soule said, “Steve McNiven and I took on the incredible task of killing Wolverine back in 2014–it was one of my earliest projects at Marvel, and such a huge opportunity. Intimidating, tricky, all of that–but ultimately, I think we created a book (alongside Jay Leisten, Justin Ponsor and Chris Eliopolous) that we’re all really proud of.”
He continued further, saying, “There’s really only one project that could top it–being part of the story that brings Logan back! THE HUNT FOR WOLVERINE is just the opening chapters of a mystery that will reach all sorts of cool hidden corners of the Marvel Universe, and will tell a story that will hopefully have us looking at Logan in an entirely new way.”
Hunt for Wolverine will not only tell how and why Wolverine comes back, but will give the way for four more Wolverine comics after Hunt for Wolverine #1. Though, Marvel has not yet assigned the creative teams to these upcoming four comics, their titles and genres have been revealed, which will be, ‘Wolverine: Claws of the Killer’ (horror), ‘Wolverine: Adamantium Agenda’ (action/adventure), ‘Wolverine: Mystery in Madripoor’ (romance) and ‘Wolverine: Weapon Lost’ (detective noir).
