Japanese electronics company Sharp Corporation on Friday officially announced the launch of its first and also the world’s first 8K TV, called the “Sharp Aquos 8K (LC-70X500)” at the ongoing IFA 2017 event in Berlin. Besides this, the Japanese vendor also announced its partnership with Foxconn technologies to develop and deliver 8K-related electronic products which include 8K TVs, 8K broadcast receivers, 8K cameras, and other 8K products. With the launch of its first 8K television, Sharp Corporation is now planning to lead the world’s techno industry by establishing an 8K Ecosystem. The Sharp Aquos 8K (LC-70X500) will hit the Chinese market starting from October 2017, will roll out in Japan starting from December 2017, will roll out in Taiwan starting February 2018 and the same will be released in the European market in March 2018. Sadly, the pricing details of the Sharp Aquos 8K television has not been revealed by the company yet.
The Sharp Aquos 8K television is made of an aviation-grade aluminium alloy frame and comes equipped with a gorgeous 70-inch true 8K panel with a screen resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels. The 8K technology provides 16 times better resolution than full-HD or 1080p scale images and reproduces images at ultimate reality, with ultra-fine details. The new 8K panel has Dynamic Highlight display with new edge-lit backlighting technology that renders dimming and brightness on different sections of the picture, achieving a darker or brighter effect. Further, it supports Dolby Vision HDR and BDA-HDR that allows the TV to process standard definition content frame-by-frame to enhance brightness levels in specific areas, improve contrast ratios and render more precise images. The TV also features fluorescent molecular imaging technique which provides an excellent contrast ratio and wide colour gamut.
The Sharp Aquos 8K (LC-70X500) TV also comes with three groups of speaker drivers built into the SoundBar, which comes clubbed with two groups of woofer speakers and four high-power speakers with optimal back bass sound that are installed on the backside of the TV. Further, the Yamaha Audio engine and DTS 2.0 technology boosts the viewing experience, where the sounds dance according to the content of the video. The company claims that the TV is capable of providing a cinema-like sound experience without installing an external sound system. Ports on the TV include four HDMI ports and two USB ports.
