To recall, HMD global first showcased the iconic feature phone, Nokia 3310 and its most awaited and talked Nokia mid-range smartphones Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3 at the MWC 2017 event back in February. And there the company announced that the new Nokia Android smartphones and the new Nokia 3310 will be launched in markets such as India, Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe and Middle East, in sometime later of this year. Now, HMD Global on Tuesday finally announced the brand new version of company’s now iconic feature phone, Nokia 3310 is now official in India. HMD Global is a Finnish start-up company, which has the official permit to manufacture, distribute and sell Nokia-branded smartphones worldwide. HMD Global has confirmed that Nokia 3310 classic feature phone will be made available in the Indian market starting May 18 (Thurshday) at a best buy price of Rs. 3,310. The feature phone will be sold via offline retail platforms in four colour variants— Warm Red and Yellow, which have a gloss finish, and the Dark Blue and Grey colour options, both of which comes in matte finish.

Nokia 3310 (2017) specifications and features: –

In terms of specifications and features, the 2017 edition of Nokia 3310 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA colour display with a screen resolution of 240X320 pixels. The old Nokia 3310 had 48×84 pixel resolution. The first difference is the display size and resolution. The new polarised and curved screen window is designed for better “readability in sunlight.” The new iconic Nokia 3310 also sports new push buttons and a new user interface (UI). A four-directional keypad in the middle position looks like the other similar Nokia conventional feature phones. The new Nokia 3310 runs on Nokia Series 30+ OS operating system.

In terms of memory, the new Nokia 3310 comes with 16MB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. On the camera front, new Nokia 3310 features a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, which the old Nokia 3310 had not. There are a lot of connectivity options in this new Nokia 3310 (2017). The device has dual-SIM (microSIM) 2G Internet access connectivity (basic internet browsing using Opera Mini browser), Bluetooth 3.0 with Nokia’s SLAM technology, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro USB port.

Other features of Nokia 3310 include a LED torchlight, FM radio and an in-built MP3 player to entertain you at certain times. The key highlight of the new Nokia 3310 is its battery. It packs a removable 1200mAh battery that delivers 22 hours of talk time, 1 month of standby time, 39 hours FM radio playback and 51 hours of MP3 playback. Apart from these features, another excellent feature of this phone is the presence of the classic snake game, which has been optimised for the new colour screen. The device measures at 115.6 x 51.0 x 12.8 mm and it weighs 79.6 grams including the battery.
