Intel announced its new processors under the 8th generation, today. Speaking accurately the 8th generation processors are basically refreshed versions of its 7th generation processors-how? The ‘Kaby Lake’ architecture chips of the 7th generation have been updated, instead. Though, the enhanced version of the core processors will increase the performance speed by 40%. Where the older generation U-series processors were working with two core and four threads, the 8th generation ones will possess four cores and eight threads-thus increasing the speed, obviously! The 8th generation line-up will offer two new Core i7 chips and i5 chips-they are included in Intel’s U-series of laptop processors.
These new generation of processors are supposed to up the clocking speed to 4.25 GHz. But the base clock speed remains at a low of 1.9 GHz. The updated processors will be working with an improvised 14nm+ technology node (a vast improvement from the previous 22nm architecture).
Although, the ‘even-more-updated’ release in coming days will offer the 14++ (Coffee Lake) and 10nm (Cannon Lake) technologies.

The newly updated 8th generation chips will do one thing, most notably-supporting 4K videos and VR! All recent innovations and creations in the world of gadgets will be supported by these new chips under the U Series processors, thanks to the UHD 620 graphics built-a big jump from the older HD 620 graphics. So, in a way the GPU performance will also get a boost.
Intel also said that the newly updated computers powered by the 8th generation processors will be available via OEM partners by Sepmtember.

But, more than the currently announced 8th generation processing chips, many eyeballs will be glued on the 10nm++ (Ice Lake) series, which will probably take over the current series. You have to still wait for them, for now.
