The LG X power2 smartphone was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, while the phone was not made available for purchase but was expected to make its way to markets by June. Now, almost three months later, the South Korean electronics company LG has started shipping units of its X Power 2 mid-range smartphone on a global basis from this month. At first, shipments will begin in North American market, followed by “key target markets” in Europe, Asia, Latin America and other parts of the world. However, the company has not revealed any exact date and pricing details of the smartphone.

Talking about its specifications, LG X Power2 smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) In-cell Touch display with improved outdoor capability for easy viewing even in strong sunlight. The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. On the software front, the single-SIM smartphone runs on latest Android version, 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
In terms of photography, the LG X power2 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1.12 µm pixel size, auto & touch focus, face detection, HDR and LED flash. The LG X power2 is capable of shooting videos in Full HD 1080p video recording at 30 fps. On the front, LG X power2 bears a 5-megapixel selfie camera with wide-angle lens and soft-light LED flash for taking better selfies in low light. The front shooter is also capable of shooting videos in Full HD.
In terms of Connectivity Options, the X power2 supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.2, GPS with A-GPS, microUSB v2.0 for charging and data transfer and USB OTG. Sensors on the phone include Proximity, Compass, Accelerometer and Gyroscope sensors. It measures 154.7 x 78.1 x 8.4 mm and weighs around 164 grams. The LG X Power2 will be available in four colour variants – Shiny Gold, Shiny Titan, Black titan and Shiny Blue.
The LG X power2 comes with a massive 4,500mAh battery and ultra-fast charging facility. LG claims that the X power2 is capable of 26 hours of talk time, 15 hours of straight video playback and 18 hours of straight internet surfing on a single charge. The phone’s super-charging ability charges at double the rate of conventional charger, that the X power2 will require an hour to charge the battery to 50 percent, and up to two hours for full charge. According to LG, the concept behind the X power2 was to bring to market, a device which can be “operated for an entire weekend without recharging.”
