A classic comeback is always a classic comeback and it can be rightly said about Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky. What a return for this creative director and he delivers it with a gravity-defying story. It’s not that this year hasn’t seen any heist movie-you have Edgar Wright’s unparalleled Baby Driver on top, followed by Ben Sefdie and Josh Sefdie’s Good Time. So, what’s so distinct about Logan Lucky?

[Wolverine, just don’t be angry with ‘Logan’, in the title.]

Well, the story of this crime-heist thriller is about two brothers Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) and his younger, one-armed brother Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) and together they plan to steal money from Charlotte Motor Speedway, North Carolina. In their mission, they get backed-up by Joe Bang (Daniel Craig) to help them break into the track’s underground system. But there arises a severe complication when their mission gets a halt during the NASCAR race sponsored by Coca-Cola.

The big plus about this exceptionally-executed storyline? Channing Tatum, no doubt. He has come a long way since his Step Up and GI Joe days, and now you see in him a great and charismatic actor. He is definitely going to steal everyone’s heart this time and shines in this big flick. Katie Holmes plays his ex-wife Bobbie Jo Logan Chapman, while Riley Keough plays the Logans’ sister Melle-she is also good as a getaway driver who’s always there to escape safely. In fact, she is phenomenal as a cunning driver and a sister.

Along with Tatum, the rests are just too good to handle. Daniel Craig, is a treat to watch, being out and away from his Bond-avatar. Adam Driver also finely delivers his part really well as one-armed bartender.

Since, the Oceans trilogy, there was a void in the list of great heist-movies-this year being exception-and Soderbergh fans couldn’t have wished more than this.

Direction is class-apart and the performances, outstanding. It’s not that there is some out-of-the-box plot being written and in-acted. The one and only thing that’s working for Logan Lucky is its style-the style of creative genius and art of working as a team, proven by the entire cast.

This is a classy and mastered action-heist-thriller. No more spoilers for now, because you will definitely love to watch this one-without being informed.
