It has been a monumental week for Vijay’s Mersal with the film being given a U/A certificate by the censor board. All set for a grand release in less than two weeks, the action thriller film boasts of an ensemble cast featuring the likes of Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female leads, SJ Suryah as the antagonist followed by Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala, Sathyan and ‘Motta’ Rajendran in vital supporting roles along with a musical score by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman.
The 100th production venture of Thenandal Studios Limited, it has now been revealed that Mersal directed by Atlee will have a run-time of 2 hours and 47 minutes (167 minutes).
At hindsight, the run-time might seem a bit long, but also ensures that Vijay fans will have a blast watching their idol on screen for a longer time.
We will now just have to wait and see how Mersal performs at the box-office when it releases on October 18 on Diwali day.
