Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu on Wednesday launched a new Flame Red colour variant of its recently launched mid-range smartphone, Meizu M6 Note in the Chinese tech market. To recall, the Chinese vendor had launched its Meizu M6 Note smartphone in China in the month of August this year with a starting price of CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs. 10,600). The smartphone was first launched in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Obsidian Black and Blue colour options and now, the company has launched a new Flame Red colour Meizu M6 Note in the company’s homeland, China. With the new Flame Red shade, the Meizu M6 Note will now be available in five attractive body colour options including Flame Red, Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Obsidian Black and Blue colour options.
Carried a price tag of CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs. 12,670), the new Flame Red coloured Meizu M6 Note will be made available for purchase in China starting November 11 via in five body colour options. The first Meizu M6 Note had been launched in the Chinese market in three different RAM and native storage variants – Meizu M6 Note with 3GB RAM & 16GB internal storage, Meizu M6 Note with 3GB RAM & 32GB internal storage, and Meizu M6 Note with 4GB RAM & 64GB internal storage. But the new Meizu M6 Note Flame Red colour variant comes with 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage only. Apart from its paint job and in-built memory configuration, the rest specifications and features are same to same as we have seen in the other existing Meizu M6 Note models or variants.
The big highlights of the Meizu M6 Note are its dual rear camera setup, 16MP front-facing camera, Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS, blazing fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor and a high-density 4,000mAh battery with mCharge 18W fast charging technology support. Design wise, the Meizu M6 Note sports an all-metal unibody design with metal curved edges, giving it an overall premium outlook. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all housed on the right-hand edge of the device, while a 3.5mm audio jack, speaker grilles, and the charging port are all placed on the very bottom edge of the smartphone.
In terms of specifications, the Meizu M6 Note sports a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. Under the hood, the Meizu M6 Note Flame Red colour variant is powered by a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card. Talking about its software fronts, the Meizu M6 Note runs on Google’s Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with company’s proprietary Flyme 6.0 custom UI skin running on top. Meizu M6 Note also features a front-mounted mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor that is housed underneath a capsule-sized physical Home Button of the device. The company claims that the fingerprint recognition button unlocks the phone in as little as 0.2 seconds.
In terms of photography, the Meizu M6 Note houses a dual rear camera setup that comes combined with a 12-megapixel primary sensor with Sony IMX362 or Samsung 2L7 CMOS camera sensor, an f/1.9 aperture, 1.4 µm pixel size, 6P lens, dual-tone quad-LED flash module and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The man camera also supports Dual PD focusing technology that can focus on the subject in just 0.03 seconds. On the front, the smartphone features a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens for capturing selfies and making video calls.
On the connectivity front, the Meizu M6 Note offers various connectivity options including dual-SIM dual standby (using a Hybrid Dual-SIM slot), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4/5.0 GHz), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port for super-fast charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include a Proximity sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Fingerprint (front-mounted), Gyroscope and E-compass sensor. On the battery front, the Meizu M6 Note packs a high-density 4,000mAh battery with mCharge 18W fast charging technology support. Dimensionally, the handset measures 154.6 x 75.2 x 8.35 mm and weighs around 173 grams.
