With Tom Cruise injuring his ankle during a shoot of an action sequence, Mission Impossible 6 might get delayed in its completion. The shooting now will end up in December, this year, instead of October. Though, the release of the film won’t be disturbed and it will be arriving in July, 2018.

Director Christopher McQuarrie said, “nothing that we’re looking at right now is going to affect the release date.”

“What we have in front of us is less complex, except for one sequence that is really intense. Fortunately for us, the one that’s really intense doesn’t happen to be intense on [Cruise’s] ankle,” McQuarrie told, regarding the shoot and the actor. The present director for the sixth installment in the Mission Impossible franchise had worked with Cruise previously also, in Jack Reacher (2012) and 2015’s blockbuster MI: Rogue Nation.

For the remaining scenes and editing part, McQuarrie said, “You simply rearrange the order in which you were going to do certain things on the movie.”

“We’ll assess what there is to be shot and what we can shoot….Once we’ve shot through that we’ll go on a hiatus and then I’ll shift my attention over to editorial.”

As per the reports, Tom Cruise had slammed into a wall while shooting an action scene for the upcoming movie. But according to the director, the actor was rather thinking whether he had given the required shot to the director or not.

“He was lying down with his foot up and I brought him the shot and he looked at it. As only Tom Cruise can do, with an ice pack around his ankle, he said, ‘That’s a pretty cool shot!’”
