Home-bred handset manufacturer Micromax Informatics, in collaboration with Eros International’s online platform Eros Now, on Tuesday, launched a new tablet, dubbed as the “Micromax Canvas Plex Tab” in the Indian tech market. The Micromax Canvas Plex has been launched in the country to offer a seamless on-the go entertainment experience for the young-age professionals and students. As for pricing, the Micromax Canvas Plex tablet has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 12,999 and it will be made available for purchase in India starting September 1st (Friday) via all leading offline retail stores across the country.

Besides this, Micromax Informatics and Eros Now have also partnered for the promotion of an upcoming Bollywood movie “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” starring Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurana and actress Bhumi Pednekar, to allow a few select lucky winners to get the chance to win free movie tickets and to meet with stars.
The newly launched co-created tablet comes bundled with one-year premium subscription to the online streaming network’s content, which offers new-generation customers one year of an immersive and unlimited content of movies, music, and entertainment shows. Further, the tablet also comes pre-loaded with Eros Now’s vast library of Bollywood and regional language films, music videos, TV shows, originals and much more. According to the company, consumers will also have access to a wide range of exciting features including full-length movies, multi-language subtitles for movies, thematic curated playlists, music video playlists, regional language filters, video progression and access to a watch list of titles.
Technically speaking, the Micromax Canvas Plex comes equipped with an 8-inch HD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, the digital slate is powered by an (unspecified) processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. The Canvas Plex also features DTS Sound technology that delivers smooth, rich, and crystal-clear sound to users in music, movies, and even gaming. The tablet also supports 4G LTE connectivity and packs a 4,000mAh battery. Sadly, the full specifications and features (including processor and OS) of the Micromax Canvas Plex haven’t been revealed by the company yet.
The news comes just six days after Micromax launched its first slim bezel smartphone, called the “Micromax Canvas Infinity” in the country. The new Micromax Canvas Infinity has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 9,999 and will be made available for purchase starting September 1st (Friday) exclusively via e-commerce website Amazon India in Black colour option. Recollecting some key specs, the Micromax Canvas Infinity sports a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) IPS display with an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). The Micromax Canvas Infinity runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. Micromax has confirmed that the Canvas Infinity will get the recently launched Android 8.0 Oreo update pretty soon. For photography, it features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for clicking selfies. On the battery front, the smartphone comes loaded with a decent 2,900mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 20 hours of talk time, and up to 420 hours of standby time.
