Micromax’s sub-brand YU Televentures is all set to launch a new black colour variant of its popular Yu Yureka smartphone in India. The company has started sending out the media invites for an upcoming smartphone launch event, which is scheduled to be held on Thursday, June 1 at 12:30PM IST. The media invite shows an image outline of the device with the tagline “Yureka is Back with Black”, meaning that the Yu Yureka will be available in black colour variant. The invite further reads “Break rules. Shatter stereotypes.” The related hashtag for the launch of Yu Yureka Black colour variant is #BlackAintForAll.
In the recent teaser image, shared by the company, shows that the antenna bands running across the top and bottom edges of the smartphone. As expected, the Yu Yureka black edition will come with unibody design and might sport a metal edge body frame. A rear camera with dual LED flash aligned vertically sits at the top-centre position of the device. Apart from these details, there are no words about the availability and pricing details of the upcoming device as of now.
To recall, the original YU Yureka was launched back in January, 2015 at Rs 9,999 and they company has gone for online sales with these smartphones. Till the date, Yu Televentures has launched a number of devices under the Yureka brand. These include Yureka, Yuphoria, Yunique, Yureka Plus, Yureka Note, Yunicorn, Yutopia, Yunique Plus, and Yureka S. The last smartphone launch was happened in August last year, and since then, YU Televentures didn’t say any words about their new launch.
The original Yu Yureka sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection on top of the display. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Yu Yureka is backed by a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, Yu Yureka runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat), but the OS is further upgradable to 5.1 (Lollipop). In terms of optics, Yu Yureka features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. And the Yu Yureka is fuelled by a removable 2500mAh battery.
