Motorola Mobility, a Lenovo owned brand, on Monday launched a new mid-range handset, dubbed as the “Moto Green Pomelo” in the Chinese tech market. Moto Green Pomelo is very identical to the company’s recently launched Moto G5S in terms of design, specifications and features. The smartphone also has a Pomelo fruit logo at the bottom of the rear panel. However, the Moto Green Pomelo has been launched in China with a price tag of CNY 1599 (approximately Rs. 15,700) and will be available in China in Cool Black and Rose Gold colour options. As of now, the company has made no official announcements about the pricing details and availability of the Moto Green Pomelo for other tech markets including India.
In terms of design, the Moto Green Pomelo has a sophisticated metal design (“crafted from a single piece of high-grade aluminium”) and a front-mounted fingerprint sensor that is housed underneath the capsule-sized physical Home Button of the device. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device, while a 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the very top edge of the smartphone. The Moto Green Pomelo also sports a selfie flash that is housed on the top panel of the display, while the rear panel of the device features a Motorola’s traditional circular camera unit along with a LED flash. The speaker grille is seen on the very bottom edge of the smartphone along with a microUSB 2.0 charging port sitting in the middle.
