The iconic Nokia 3310 is set for a re-launch by the end of February.

According to popular tipster Evan Blass at VentureBeat, HMD Global, the Finnish company that develops mobile phones under the brand name of Nokia, plans to launch a new version of the 3310 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The Nokia 3310 was released in September 2000 and sold around 126 million units worldwide.

It was widely known for its sturdy build and long battery life.

The handset featured a five-line monochrome graphic display, with a simple interface.

It also came with utilities like a calculator, reminder function, and stopwatch, all of which were rare at the time. It allowed longer SMS text messages, custom ringtones and screensavers.

The Nokia 3310 had four games, Pairs II, Space Impact, Bantumi, and the popular Snake II.

Seventeen years later, the revamped 3310 is reported to cost €59 (around Rs. 4100).

Reports also said that HMD Global would release the Nokia 3310 along with other mobile devices- the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 at the MWC event.

The Mobile World Congress is the largest gathering of the mobile industry, scheduled to be held from February 27 to March 2 at Barcelona.
