After launching the F3 Diwali Edition in India last month, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has silently launched a new toned-down version of its popular selfie-centric smartphone, Oppo F3 in Vietnam. Christened as the “Oppo F3 Lite”, the new smartphone is currently listed on company’s official Vietnam website, revealing almost all the specifications and features about the smartphone. However, carried a sticker price of 5,490,000 VND (Vietnamese Dong) (approximately Rs. 15,680), the Oppo F3 Lite will be available in Vietnam in Gold and Black colour variants.

In terms of design, the Oppo F3 Lite borrows a lot of its design languages from the company’s A57 and recently launched A71 smartphones. The Oppo F3 Lite is clothed in a metal unibody design, featuring a sleek back finish with curved metal edges. The volume rockers are placed on the left-hand edge of the device, while the power-key button is situated at the right-hand edge of the smartphone. A 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very bottom edge corner of the smartphone. One speaker grille is also seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB charging port sitting in the middle. The rear panel of the handset houses a 13MP camera, LED flash module, and company’s logo, while the top front panel features a 16MP selfie camera, sensors, and an earpiece.

Technically speaking, the Oppo F3 Lite comes equipped with a 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. Under the hood, the dual-SIM-supported Oppo F3 Lite is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor along with an Adreno 505 GPU for handling graphics. In terms of RAM and storage, the smartphone comes loaded with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD. On the software front, the Oppo F3 Lite runs company’s proprietary ColorOS 3.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The smartphone also features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor (housed underneath the capsule-sized Home Button of the device) for the biometric authentication process.

Apart from that, the smartphone has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.2 aperture and PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) along with an LED flash module for excellent low-light photography. Other features include palm shutter function that takes a picture after you hold your hand in front of the screen and bokeh effect.

On the connectivity front, the Oppo F3 Lite supports dual-SIM, 4G with VoLTE connectivity, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB v2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, E-compass, and Proximity sensor. On the battery, the selfie-focused F3 Lite is backed up by a powerful 2,900mAh non-removable battery. The phone measures 149.1 x 72.9 x 7.65 mm and weighs 147 grams.
