It is a celebration time for the team of La La Land as it takes away six Oscar awards in the 89th Academy awards held at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Aside from our desi girl Priyanka Chopra walking the red carpet and a Muslim winning the award for the first time, Oscars itself made its appearance in the list of firsts for a reason that it surely didn’t want. There was a terrible mistake due to the mix-up of the best film envelopes which kept the La La Land team, which raced to the stage soon after the announcement, baffled for few minutes until it was cleared that Moonlight won the Oscar for best film.
The director of the film La La Land, Jordan Horowitz almost completed his thanks-giving speech when he sensed something wrong. The embarrassing gaffe is the first ever one to have happened in 89 years.
