The PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developers are changing the game’s update schedule. In an announcement on Steam, NA/EU partnerships manager Harusol says that “we will not have our weekly or monthly patches rolling out as often as before.”
Harusol is keen to clarify that this does not mean PUBG will be getting less attention from its development team. He clarifies that “although we may not release a weekly patch, we will utilize the test servers for significantly longer periods of time and deploy patches and hotfixes when necessary.” This change should ensure that live builds ship with fewer “unforseen issues” but “will have absolutely no bearing on how much content we deliver, or how much we work on the development of the game.” The community will continue to kept abreast of any updates, as the team will continue to issue patch notes as usual.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is due for a full release at the end of 2017.
