South Korean tech giant Samsung is currently working on its next flagship phablet and also the successor of the company’s previous “fire-prone” Galaxy Note 7, dubbed as the Galaxy Note 8. We all know that it was a disaster for Samsung when its new Galaxy Note 7 had been catching fire due to its battery design and manufacturing problems. But now the launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be a challenge to the company, where Samsung is taking extra precautions to develop its next flagship device worry-free. However, there are many leaks and rumours about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 from the last couple of months. Some rumours claim that the Samsung’s next Android-powered phablet will sport dual rear camera setup, while other leaks suggest that the Galaxy Note 8 will feature a dual edge QHD curved display. However, a new report from VentureBeat claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be the most expensive cell phone by the company ever. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of the launch which does reveal a gist of all the specifications and features about the premium device. If the rumours are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would see a significant overhaul in terms of specifications and arrive with a host of improvements.
Release Date and Pricing Details
The South Korean company naturally unveils its new flagship Note device each year at the IFA tech show in Berlin, which indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will make its debut in the second half of September 2017. Although other rumours claim that the Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy Note 8 on August 26. Evan Blass, a popular phone tipster on Friday share a post on Twitter, where he claims that the Galaxy Note 8 launch event is scheduled to happen in the month of September. The phone leakster has also tipped the expected price of the Galaxy Note 8. He said that the Galaxy Note 8 will carry a retail price tag of EUR 999 (approx. Rs. 72,000) in the European markets. In the United States, the phablet will cost around $900 (approx. Rs. 64,800). The latest report also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be made available in Black, Gold, and Blue shades.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Specifications and Features:
In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will sport a gigantic 6.3-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. Like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, the phablet will also have the dual-edge curved Infinity display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC or an Exynos 8895 processor depending on the market. In terms of memory, it is expected to come with a 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card. On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will run on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box with company’s own custom UI skin.
In terms of photography, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to sport a horizontally arranged dual rear camera setup consisting of two 12-megapixel sensors with Optical Image Stabilization and an LED flash. The cameras are said to be situated to the left of the flash unit and heart rate sensor. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner (will be positioned to the right of the flash unit and heart rate sensor) and an advanced S-Pen stylus. The S-Pen is expected to come with new features like language translation for full sentence and currency conversion. It will also bring the ability to pin handwritten notes to the smartphone’s always-on display. On the battery front, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to be powered by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery, which is slightly smaller battery compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 7, which had 200mAh extra battery capacity. But this time, Samsung is very careful to manufacture its upcoming Galaxy phablet’s battery.
