Chinese mobile manufacturer Transsion Holdings with brands like Tecno, Itel and Infinix, has recently announced a joint venture agreement with domestic mobile brand Spice Mobility to strengthen its foothold in Indian smartphone market, which is one of the fastest growing mobile phone markets globally. Soon after signing on the joint venture agreement paper, Spice Mobility and Transsion Holdings, on Tuesday launched a new portfolio of eight budget-oriented mobile devices including five feature phones and three smartphones. All the smartphones will be made available for purchase in New Delhi from July 11.
Commenting on the launch, Sudhir Kumar, CEO, Spice Mobile under Transsion Group, said, “we are extremely excited to announce the all new Spice product portfolio today. With the launch of the series, we have taken a step closer in creating an inclusive yet all-new powerful and rich digital experience for the young generation of India. Aligned with the brand identity and philosophy, Spice brand wants to fuel the existing culture of sharing amongst the Indian youth. With easy to use features, these devices offer enhanced sharing capabilities to create new aspirations which will help in connecting the next billion. We are sure that we will create a new segment in the Indian market with the robust range of products and services.”
The new budget-oriented mobile product portfolio is segmented as F Series, K Series, V Series, and Z Series that are all carried a price tag between Rs. 850 to Rs. 9,500.
F Series
The F series is designed for music, fun and fashion. This series include two smartphones– F301 and F302, they are priced at Rs. 5,590 and Rs. 6,290 respectively. The F301 comes with colourful design, dual speakers and 3D immersive sound technology. On the other hand, F302 comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner and Facemask technology that allows users to add Snapchat-like filters while capturing selfies.
K Series
Spice K series include one smartphone– K601 which has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 7,290. The K601smartphone also comes with fingerprint sensor technology. The fingerprint scanner also supports gestures, which enables users easy access to favourite apps like call app or the camera app. “Easy access to call via click on fingerprint and instant access to favourite apps with customization up to 5 fingerprints as personal shortcuts.” In terms of memory, the device is backed up by a 2GB of RAM memory.
V Series
The V series is designed for blazing fast performance and excellent camera quality. The V series smartphone also comes equipped with fingerprint sensor technology which allows users to get direct access to favourite apps like call app or the camera app. Users can customise up to 5 fingerprints as personal shortcuts on this smartphone. Unfortunately, the company has not revealed any specific model names in this V-series but the new devices in the series will be announced later.
Z Series
The Z series are all feature phones that include Z102, Z101, Z201, Z202 and Z301 which are priced at Rs. 1,180, Rs. 1,240, Rs. 1,625, Rs. 1,690 and Rs. 1,850 respectively. All the feature phones sport shortcut keys and loud sound features for FM Radio and Music Player. The Z201 and Z301 come loaded with dual speakers, while the Z101 and Z202 come packed with 2500mAh battery that is rated to deliver more than 35 hours of talk time and over 500 hours of standby time. The Z202 feature phone supports a feature like Power bank that lets you charge other phones. The Z Series feature phones also come enabled with the King Voice feature which lets the customers navigate through their smart keypad devices, assisted by voice support.
