After DC’s Wonder Woman’s enormous success, fans have put belief in future female-oriented movies. And the most awaited on that list is none other than 2018’s Tomb Raider Reboot flick, starring Alicia Vikander. The movie is adapted from 2013’s hit game reboot of the same title. The responsibility of direction is in the hands of 2015’s The Wave fame Roar Uthaug. While, the shooting for the film is still going on, an update from the movie was recently released in form of a new photo from the sets, in which Alicia Vikander is seen hanging from a mountain or something like that (see the image above).
Talking about the character and her role, during a media interaction, she said, “She has all the fierce, tough, curious, intelligent traits,” Vikander says, “but we’ve stripped away all of her experience. She hasn’t gone on an adventure just yet. She thought he was a stuck up businessperson living in the modern youth culture of suburban London, but then this whole box of information. This is the beginning.”
She continued further, “I was surprised that my mum knew what ‘Tomb Raider’ was. That’s due to the fact that Angelina Jolie made Lara Croft such an icon. But this is a beautiful way of showing a very loved character from more angles.”
The actress had won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in The Danish Girl (2015). As an actor, there’s no doubt of her talent. How she fares in the female game-protagonist’s shoes on the big screen, is yet to be seen though, when the film opens up on 16th March, 2018.
