After announcing the Yunique 2 budget smartphone in the Indian smartphone market in July, Micromax’s sub-brand YU Televentures has recently updated its Yureka series of smartphones catalogue with the launch of a new mid-range device, called the “Yu Yureka 2” in India. Carried a price tag of Rs. 11,999, the new Yu Yureka 2 will be made available for purchase in India exclusively via e-commerce website Flipkart.com in Gold colour option. The sale will kick start on Flipkart from September 20th (Wednesday), during its Big Billion Days Sale. The main highlights of the Yu Yureka 2 smartphone are its 16-megapixel rear camera setup, 2.5D curved glass protected 5.5-inch full-HD display, 4GB RAM and a massive 3930mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology support. The smartphone sports a metal unibody design and features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication process.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Yu Yureka 2 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass protection on top of the display. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor (4 x A53 cores at 2.0 GHz & 4 x A53 cores at 2.0 GHz) with Adreno 506 image processing unit to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Yu Yureka 2 is backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Yu Yureka 2 runs company’s own custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
In terms of optics, the Yu Yureka 2 features a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, and dual-tone LED flash module. On the front, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM Yu Yureka 2 smartphone offers various connectivity options including 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz), hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Fingerprint sensor, Proximity sensor, and Ambient Light sensor. On the battery front, the Yu Yureka 2 comes packed with a decent 3,930mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology support.
