Taiwanese company ASUS has launched a new ultralight gaming laptop, ROG Strix GL553 in their Republic of Gamers (ROG) series of Strix laptops in India at the Indian Gaming Show 2017 on Thursday. The compact aluminium and polycarbonate laptop which was earlier showcased at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The Asus ROG Strix GL553 comes with the new NVIDIA GTX1050Ti and GTX1050 graphics processor and some really good specifications at a starting price point of Rs 94,990.

The compact gaming machine is aimed at professional gamers and enthusiasts, as it comes with dedicated gaming powers. The company also plans to showcase the 15.6-inch notebook at its Bangalore ROG Store launch scheduled later of this month. The Rog Strix GL553, also offers up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, while the gamer-friendly keyboard features ASUS Aura and offers four distinct lighting areas for good gaming experiences in the dark. In India, ROG Strix GL553 comes in two variant models — the ROG GL553VE and the ROG GL553VD.

“The product is aimed at young professionals who enjoy regular-through-heavy gaming sessions and premium entertainment on the go,” Peter Chang, Regional Head-South Asia and Country Manager-System Business Group- ASUS India, said in a statement.

“In order to ensure this, we included a powerful, yet efficient set of hardware into a highly portable device that is easy on the battery as well,” he added.

The ROG GL553VE model is equipped with 7th-Generation (Kaby Lake) 2.8GHz Intel® Core™ i7 quad-core processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050Ti graphics coupled with 4GB of GDDR4 video memory for powerful performance and flawless gaming visuals.

The ROG GL553VD model comes with a 7th-Generation 2.5GHz Intel® Core™ i5 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 graphics coupled with 2GB / 4GB of GDDR5 video memory. ROG Strix GL553 delivers superior gaming performance and power efficiency with NVIDIA’S most advanced GPU architecture, called “Pascal” compared to previous generation GPUs. For storage ROG Strix GL553 (base model) keeps a 2.5-inch 1TB 7200rpm HDD as standard, though users could opt for a 128/256GB SATA3 SSD. It bears a 1280×720 HD Resolution webcam, weighs in at 2.5kg and its dimensions are as follows 38.3 (W) x 25.5 (D) x 3 (H) cm. The laptop is backed byan embedded 48Whour battery which can provide decent battery life.
