Domestic handset manufacturer Intex Technologies on Monday updated its Aqua series smartphone portfolio with the launch of an another entry-level smartphone, dubbed as the “Intex Aqua Selfie” in India. The Intex Aqua Selfie is a new member of company’s popular Aqua series that we have seen the recently launched Intex Aqua S3 with 4G voLTE support and now the Intex Aqua Selfie can be considered as an upgraded version of the Intex Aqua S3. A few days ago, the company also launched a budget-oriented smartphone, Intex ELYT e7 in India, which is now exclusively available on Amazon.in. Priced at Rs 6,649, the new Intex Aqua Selfie will be made available for purchase starting today through all leading offline retail stores across the country in Rose Gold and Black colour options. The main highlights of the smartphone are its pre-loaded music streaming feature and video streaming feature, latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS and selfie-flash for capturing bright selfies even in low light conditions.

Design

Design wise, the Intex Aqua Selfie comes with a sleek metal unibody design and metal frame all around giving it an overall simple and classy look. The new smartphone features three capacitive navigation buttons and a front LED flash that is housed on the top front panel of the device. The volume rockers and the power/lock buttons are all placed on the right-hand edge of the smartphone. The rear panel of the smartphone houses an 8MP rear camera setup with a LED flash module, while the top front panel features a 5MP selfie camera, LED flash, sensors, and an earpiece.

Specifications and Features

As far as specifications are concerned, the Intex Aqua Selfie comes equipped with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz Spreadtrum 9832A quad-core processor which is coupled with a 512 MHz Mali-400 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the device is backed by a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card. On the software front, the Intex Aqua Selfie runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with light custom UI skin running on top.

In terms of optics, the Intex Aqua Selfie sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and single LED flash. On the front, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with an LED flash for capturing bright selfies even in low light.

In terms of connectivity, this dual-SIM Intex Aqua Selfie smartphone offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include Proximity sensor, Gravity sensor, and Ambient Light Sensor. On the battery front, the Intex Aqua Selfie comes loaded with a decent 3,000mAh Li-ion battery with fast-charging support. Dimensionally, the handset measures 155 x 78.8 x 9.2 mm and weighs 178 grams.

Apart from these specifications, the device also comes preloaded with popular music streaming app, “Gaana” and video streaming service “Amazon Prime Video”, which allow users to enjoy free unlimited access to all their favourite songs and stream and download popular movies and TV Shows. In addition, it also comes with QR Code scanner, Xender file transfer apps, Vistoso image editing apps and more pre-installed apps.
