The Chinese smartphone company Oppo on Thursday launched a new ‘Selfie Expert’ smartphone, Oppo F3 Plus in the Indian market at an event in Delhi. Oppo’s much-hyped selfie-centric smartphone, Oppo F3 Plus comes with dual front camera setup, including a 120-degree wide-angle group selfie camera. The F3 Plus is priced at Rs 30,990 and will be available across leading e-commerce platforms like Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal and others. Consumers can also pre-order for the device starting March 23 (Thursday) till March 31; the new Oppo smartphone, F3 plus will go on regular sale from April 1, 2017 via both online and offline stores.

The company, Oppo has signed Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as company’s brand ambassador, who also shared her experience at the event. The company had previously launched its Oppo F1s, Oppo F1s Plus phones in India with a focus on the smartphone camera technology or ‘Selfie-Expert’ camera. The F3 Plus will be available in black and gold color variants.

OPPO F3 Plus specifications and features: –

In terms of specifications, Oppo F3 Plus sports a gigantic 6 inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) JDI In-Cell 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.95GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU. In terms of memory, the OPPO F3 Plus comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded further up to 256GB using a microSD card slot. There is also a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button at the front, which is equipped with a hydrophobic membrane making it water-resistant. This fingerprint sensor, which is said to unlock the smartphone in just 0.2 seconds. Talking about software front, the dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Oppo F3 Plus runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS topped with company’s own ColorOS v3.0.0i.

In terms of photography, the Oppo F3 Plus comes with company’s first dual front-facing or selfie camera setup, which is the main highlight of this device. However, the dual front-facing camera setup which includes a 16-megapixel 1/3.1-inch sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel sensor. “One for Selfie, One for Group Selfie”. While 16-megapixel sensor sports a 76.4-degree wide-angle lens, the 8-megapixel bears a 120-degree wide-angle lens that captures a wider view, up to 105-degree field-of-view group selfies than a regular 80-degree lens field of view. The front camera also comes loaded with company’s Beautify 4.0 software.

The smartphone also houses a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX398 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and dual PDFA autofocus technology, which basically doubles the area of the sensor’s pixel making it 40% faster focus speeds, as per company’s claim. The smartphone comes with various camera features, including Selfie Panorama, Smart Facial Recognition feature, Screen Flash, and Palm Shutter.

In terms of connectivity options, the Oppo F3 Plus is a dual SIM (two GSM supported) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. It bears a triple-slot tray, that can hold two Nano 4G SIM cards or one Nano SIM card with one microSD card at the same time. Connectivity options on board include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, 3.5mm audio jack, and microUSB v2.0 with OTG. Sensors on board the smartphone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, compass magnetometer and gyroscope.

The Oppo F3 Plus is backed up by a non-removable Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery which paired with OPPO-designed VOOC Flash Charge technology that optimises power consumption. With the VOOC Flash Charger, Oppo claims that the F3 Plus can deliver up to 2 hours of talk time in just 5 minutes of charging. The handset measures 163.63 x 80.8 x 7.35 mm and weighs 185 grams.
