Intel has come up with a project to build drones that will fly in the night sky and create a light show.
The Intel Shooting Star drones are offering their service to different theme parks, cities, and entertainment companies to create light shows in the sky.
Last year a 100 of these drones flew in the sky creating different patterns including the Intel logo. This year they have raised the number to 500 and successfully operated all of them. The 500 bots created spectacular visuals of complicated patterns and formations.
Intel explains:” Weighing in at only 280 grams or less than the weight of a volleyball, the Intel Shooting Star drone is constructed with a soft frame made of flexible plastics and foam and contains no screws. The quadcopter’s propellers are also protected by covered cages – all features designed to ensure the drone is safe to fly, is splash-proof and can fly in light rain. ”
This new achievement has broken the previous Guinness World Record of a light show by 100 drones outside of Hamburg, Germany.
Daniel Gurdan, the engineering lead for Intel Shooting Star drones thinks it’s a visual spectacle of immense achievement in terms of magnitude and UAV control.“You totally lose the sense for how many are actually in the air,” he said according to iQ.
Last month they unveiled their first consumer drone, the Yuneec Typhoon H. It features the company’s “RealSense” technology. The company’s commercial drone Falcon 8+ was introduced in North American markets in October and it comes with complete flight system redundancies built-in.
I don’t even understand how I ended up here, but I assumed this post used to
be great. I do not understand who you might be however
certainly you are going to a famous blogger in the event you are not already.
