So this goes out as a treat to all the Nakuul Mehta fans. Yes, our beloved actor has announced a new project. The very dashing Nakuul took to Instagram today and posted a video along with his friend Alekh Sangal, to announce his upcoming web series titled Gangster Newton. Nakuul is currently seen as portraying the role of Shivaay Singh Oberoi in the popular televison series Ishqbaaaz and Dil Bole Oberoi opposite actor Surbhi Chandna. The trailer of Mehta’s upcoming show Gangster Newton will be released this week. The series will be a science meets underworld show.

Not only has he announced a new project, but Nakuul’s professional career is literally on a roll. He has also won the best actor award for his web series I Don’t Watch TV at the recently held Talent Track Awards and is on cloud nine. The web series directed by Ajay Singh, was published last year on the online content platform, Arre. Produced by Timbuktu Films, the series showcased the daily struggles of TV actors in a satirical manner. Along with Nakuul, the web-series also features popular actors like Karan Patel, Kritika Kamra and Drashti Dhami. The 34-year-old actor’s happiness knew no bounds when he shared his achievement on Instagram by posting a picture with his award.
This has been an absolute collaborative effort of some wonderful talent, all of whom came together at the behest/gun point/cold call of the buoys at Timbuktu.

After doing theatre and music videos for a long time, Nakuul Mehta made his debut in 2008 with the Bollywood movie “Haal-e-Dil” which also starred actors Adhyayan Suman and Amita Pathak and was directed by Anil Devgan. Mehta’s showbiz career took a turn in 2012 where he featured as the lead in the popular serial Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, making him a household name.
Sharing his excitement with the masses, Nakuul Mehta said: “My first series got a lot of positive feedback. It was amongst the top five shows on the list of various publications and websites. That’s when I decided to produce another one,”.
Promising to dispense quirky and different content, Nakuul stated that Gangster Newton is about a science genius who survives in the underworld purely by the skill of Science and will have elements which have never been seen before on the web. Reports also have it that Titli star Shashank Arora has been roped in to play the lead role in this web series. Nakuul said: “I may do a cameo, that’s all.”
Nakuul is married to Jankee Parekh Mehta who is a singer by profession.
