Indian handset manufacturer, Micromax has today announced the launch of company’s all-new Evok series in India with the launch of Evok Power and Evok Note. Micromax Evok Power and Evok Note are the first smartphones in the company’s new Evok range. The Micromax Evok Power comes with a price tag of Rs. 6,999, while the Evok Note is available for Rs 9,499 and both the smartphones will be exclusively available on e-commerce website, Flipkart starting midnight today (Tuesday).
Micromax has partnered with Flipkart to sell these two new budget mid-range devices and the company is looking at a long term relationship with Flipkart. The Evok Power and Evok Note smartphones come with a metal unibody design and the series has been designed keeping the Indian consumers in the mind. Both smartphones boast the latest specifications and features and support 4G VoLTE. The Micromax Evok Note is a budget mid-range device and will be competing head-to-head with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Lenovo K6 Power, and Moto G4 Play.

In terms of specifications, the Micromax Evok Power sports a 5-inch(720p) semi-HD display with a 2.5D scratchless curved glass on top. It comes with on-screen navigation buttons and has thick bezels all around the display. The Micromax Evok Power boasts an anti-shock design and features a rubberized strip running on its sides. The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. On the camera front, this Micromax device features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies and video calling.
On the software front, the Evok Power runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Evok Power support connectivity options like 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, dual-SIM and microUSB port. There is also a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of this device. The device packs with a non-removable 4000mAh battery, which is rated to give 30 hours of talk time.

On the other hand, the Micromax Evoke Note features a bigger 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display and offers a dynamic contrast and colour vibrancy. The display sports a pixel density of 400ppi and comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The Micromax Evok Note is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a hybrid slot.
On the camera front, the device sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, while for the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide angle lens for selfies and video calling. The rear camera also includes a 5P Largan Lens for enhanced performance in low light conditions.
On the connectivity front, the Evok Note supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, dual-SIM (hybrid) and microUSB port. The phone also features a fingerprint scanner, which is embedded into the home button on the front panel. Further, the Micromax Evok Note comes loaded with security application, called Secure Space for dual profiles. Secure Space feature – Users can use their fingerprint to encrypt the applications in their smart handset and create encrypted files and shortcuts on their phones. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with bloatware apps. Talking about the Evok Power, the Micromax Evok Note is also backed by a larger 4,000mAh battery.
