The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi 3S (3S Prime) successor, the Redmi 4, in India middle of this month and now the company on Tuesday (May 23) put up the device on sale at 12pm IST via e-commerce website, Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official e-commerce website, Mi.com. The Redmi 4 comes in three different variants based on their internal storage capacity, the 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage of the new Xiaomi Redmi 4 has been priced at Rs 6,999, the 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage variant is priced Rs 8,999, while for 4GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage option, you have to pay Rs 10,999. Note that, the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant will not be available for sale today, this variant will only become available to purchase by the end of June.

The e-commerce portal Amazon India has offered some mind-blowing launch offers for those who decide to purchase the Redmi 4 from their website. Xiaomi Redmi 4 launch offers on Amazon India include YES Bank customers will get Rs. 500 cashback on purchase with a YES Bank credit or debit card, and for the first 1,00,000 customers, who register on the Amazon Kindle app on the Redmi 4 will get a credit of Rs 200. Some others offer include discounts on Redmi 4 Cases (down to Rs. 349 down from the original price of Rs 499), and Mi headphones starting at Rs 599. The company has also announced a 45GB of 4G data offer for 5 months from Vodafone. This is valid for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers, who have an existing data pack of 1GB or higher 4G data on their numbers. Additional offers include Rs. 5000 worth discounts on domestic flight and hotel bookings from Goibibo website or app.

In terms of specifications, dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Xiaomi Redmi 4 smartphone sports a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Redmi 4 is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 505 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the phone is backed by a 2GB / 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB / 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fonts, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with company’s MIUI 8 custom skin running on top of the device. The device also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security.

In terms of photography, the Redmi 4 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, LED flash, a 5 element lens, real-time filter and 1080p scale video recording. On the front, there’s a 5-megapixel front with f/2.2 aperture for video calls and capturing selfies. The device also features an IR Blaster (infrared sensor) that can be used as an universal remote to control third-party electronics & appliances like set-top boxes, audio consoles, TVs, fans, air conditioners or DVD players.

In terms of connectivity, this Redmi 4 smartphone features a hybrid dual-SIM setup. Connectivity options on the device also include 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG, GLONASS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, E-Compass and Gyroscope sensor. The Redmi 4 comes packed with a powerful 4100 mAh non-removable battery that is rated to deliver up to 18 days of standby time and last for two days under regular usage conditions. The handset measures at 139.3 x 69.9 x 8.65 mm and weighs 150 grams.
