Huawei’s sub-brand Honor on Tuesday launched its new affordable smartphone, the Huawei Honor 6A in China. The new Honor 6A comes in two memory storage variants- 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage. The 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage variant is priced at CNY 799 (roughly Rs. 7,500), whereas the 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage has been priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 9400). The Honor 6A smartphone has been launched in China in Gold, Pink, Blue and Grey colour options. The smartphone will be made available starting 1st June via Huawei’s official online store, Vmall.com and as well as the Chinese e-commerce site, Jingdong.

In terms of design, the mid-range Honor 6A sports a metal unibody design with a metal frame all around giving it an overall premium look. The smartphone also sports metal edges and onscreen navigation buttons. The phone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, located just middle of the device, the company claims to unlock the phone in just 0.05 seconds. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top of the phone. And speaker grille is seen at the bottom edge of the device with a microUSB port sitting in the middle.
In terms of specifications, the Honor 6A sports a 5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. The device is powered by an octa core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with Adreno 505 GPU to handle the graphics. The smartphone comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the device runs company’s own EMUI 5.1 custom skin, based on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
In terms of photography, the Honor 6A features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video recording. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera for video calling and capturing selfies.
In terms of connectivity, this dual SIM smartphone offers 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n (2.4GHz), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS/Glonass and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors onboard the smartphone include Accelerometer, Gravity sensor, Proximity sensor, and Ambient Light Sensor. The Honor 6A comes packed with a powerful 3020mAh non-removable battery that is rated to deliver up to 12 hours of video playback. The handset measures 143.7 x 70.95 x 8.2 mm and weighs 143 grams.
