Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus on Tuesday added an another member, the “Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0” to its ZenPad tablet series at the ongoing Computex 2017 event in Taipei. The smaller Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) is the successor of the company’s ZenPad 3 8.0 (Z581KL), which was launched last year. As of now, Asus has not revealed the pricing details and availability of the tablet. Design wise, the new Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) sports a 6.9 mm thin aluminum unibody design for more resistant and premium looking instead of its predecessor’s brushed metallic finish.
In terms of specifications, Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) features a 7.9-inch IPS 2K display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The 2K display also comes with company’s VisualMaster technology, a suite of exclusive visual enhancement technologies that delivers a true viewing experience on your tablet. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 510 GPU to handle the graphics.
In terms of memory, the Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) comes in two variants– ZenPad 3S 8.0 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and the ZenPad 3S 8.0 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The memory storage can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card. On the software front, ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) runs company’s own ZenUI 3.5 custom skin based on Google’s Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.
In terms of optics, Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel resolution front-facing shooter for making video calls and capturing selfies.
In terms of connectivity, the Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0 tablet offers various connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 ac/b/g/n), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/AGPS/Glonass, a 3.5mm Audio port, USB OTG, two stereo speakers with DTS Headphone X technology, and a USB Type-C port for super-fast charging and data transfer. Sensors on the tablet include a Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and E-Compass and Gyroscope sensor. The Asus ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) is fuelled by a massive 4.680 mAh battery which claims to deliver up to 11 hours of battery life.
