Chinese smartphone company Oppo had launched its selfie-centric “F3 Plus” smartphone in the Indian market in March this year with a price tag of Rs. 30,990. Just months after launch, Oppo has reportedly announced a price cut for its selfie-centric F3 Plus smartphone by Rs. 3,000, according to Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai-based handset retailer. Mahesh Telecom on Thursday shared this announcement on its official Twitter page and Facebook account. The Tweet reads, “#OppoF3Plus now available for Rs.27990/- only – effective today.” As per the tweet, the Oppo F3 Plus will now be available at a discounted price, Rs. 27,990 in the country from Thursday onwards. But, as of now, there is no official confirmation about the price cut as the Amazon and Flipkart are still showing the original price tag (Rs 30,990) for Oppo F3 Plus.

As far as specifications are concerned, Oppo F3 Plus sports a gigantic 6-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) JDI In-Cell 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.95GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the OPPO F3 Plus is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card slot. There is also a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button at the front, which is equipped with a hydrophobic membrane making it water-resistant. This fingerprint sensor, which is said to unlock the smartphone in just 0.2 seconds. Talking about software front, the dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Oppo F3 Plus runs company’s own ColorOS v3.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
In terms of optics, the Oppo F3 Plus sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX398 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and dual PDFA autofocus technology, which basically doubles the area of the sensor’s pixel making it 40% faster focus speeds, as per the company claims. On the front, the smartphone houses a dual front-facing camera setup which includes a 16-megapixel 1/3.1-inch sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel sensor. “One for Selfie, One for Group Selfie”. While 16-megapixel sensor sports a 76.4-degree wide-angle lens, the 8-megapixel bears a 120-degree wide-angle lens that captures a wider view, up to 105-degree field-of-view group selfies than a regular 80-degree lens field of view. The smartphone comes loaded with various camera features including company’s Beautify 4.0 software, Selfie Panorama, Smart Facial Recognition feature, Screen Flash, and Palm Shutter.
In terms of connectivity options, the Oppo F3 Plus is a dual SIM (two GSM supported) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. It bears a triple-slot tray, that can hold two Nano 4G SIM cards or one Nano SIM card with one microSD card at the same time. Connectivity options on board include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, 3.5mm audio jack, and microUSB v2.0 with OTG. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Fingerprint (front-mounted), Proximity Sensor, Compass and Gyroscope sensor. The Oppo F3 Plus is fuelled by a non-removable Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery which paired with OPPO-designed VOOC Flash Charge technology that optimises power consumption. With the VOOC Flash Charger, Oppo claims that the F3 Plus can deliver up to 2 hours of talk time in just 5 minutes of charging. The handset measures 163.63 x 80.8 x 7.35 mm and weighs 185 grams.
